Luxury Car Maker Aston Martin Wins Awards as Company Fires Staff

The Aston Martin DBS and DB9 have achieved top honours in auto motor und sport's "Best Cars 2009" in Germany. The DBS and DB9 won the readers' vote of the renowned automobile magazine auto motor und sport coming first in the category of "Sports Cars – Imported." The prestigious prize, awarded to Aston Martin for the 2nd year running, confirms once again the deserved place in the rankings. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage, also proved to be popular with sports car fans, receiving second place in the same category.

Dr. Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive Officer of Aston Martin, said: "This double victory shows that our small but exclusive Marque is on the right path. It underlines the positive development Aston Martin has seen in Germany as one of our most important markets in Europe, with sales going up by 15 per cent in the past year."
