When you're shopping for an old figurine, you might very well be looking for an antique or vintage figurine. Thrift shops or second hand shops are my favorite places to look for old figurines. Sometimes people drop them off as a charity item. You'll often be able to find the same quality vintage figurine in a thrift shop for much less than you'd pay in an antique shop. Often the staff in a second-hand shop aren't as knowledgeable as the people who work in an antique store, so they won't know how rare an item that they've got.

I also can't resist yard sales. I can't tell you the times that I've bought a vintage Lladro figurine for $5 and then resold it on ebay for 5 to 10 times that. Yes while I love old figurine shopping for the fun of it and to display items in my own home, sometimes I can't pass up the opportunity to flip an old figurine.

So far I haven't found the greatest deals at swap meets and flea markets. The folks at these events have usually thoroughly researched their pieces and are hoping to get top dollar for them. But on a slow day, when a dealer needs to go home with some cash, it's still possible to find a great bargain.

Cornbread is a popular southern food that’s included in several cuisines, including soul food, Cajun, southwestern, and Creole. The main ingredient in cornbread is cornmeal. The food was first adapted from Native Americans, who taught Europeans who came to America how to grow, process, and use corn.

We southerners love all kinds of pork, so the meat is a big part of southern food. One of the most popular cuts is baby back ribs. Of course, baby back ribs are a favorite with people from all regions of the U.S. – not just the South. They’re also featured in cuisines from other nations and ethnic groups. I’ll admit that I don’t know a lot about how people of other nationalities prepare their baby back ribs, but I do know how we do it in the southern United States.

Because Americans are usually very creative, we often come up with some innovative American recipes and foods. One place this is evident is with homemade hamburgers. An imaginative chef or cook can turn a humble beef patty into a gourmet burger. Even many top-shelf restaurants are catching onto this and taking full advantage of the deep affinity that many Americans have with hamburgers. Of course, to enjoy one of these gourmet burgers, you’ll have to shell out some cash – we’re not talking about McDonald’s or Burger King here.

Let’s say you like Southern food and you need a meal to serve to guest. Let’s also say that his Southern food has to be relatively inexpensive because you’re expecting a good number of attendees. The meal also has to be visually appealing and tasty because this is more of an upscale event than it is a backyard cookout. It might be a banquet, a dinner party for winners of pageants and their parents, or some other type of sit-down meal. What about a chicken dish?
